The system can include an ultra-wide-angle 41MP primary sensor with PureView technology
Breaking the records of all smartphone cameras, the much-awaited Nokia 9 PureView is expected to launch this year. The camera monster phone is set to come with five rear cameras. Along with a front-facing camera, it will have a total of six cameras, which sounds pretty crazy. And with this, it comes with full of innovative technologies.
An imaging powerhouse
The Nokia 9 PureView with its Penta-camera system promises to be a breakthrough imaging powerhouse, and it has to deliver on this promise as it is clearly the biggest USP of the flagship. Recently, a promo video leaked highlights certain features such as 5 simultaneous shots, HDR support, and up to 10x more light.
Nokia, PureView, and Zeiss: The power of three
Last year, HMD Global had acquired the rights to the PureView brand from Microsoft and started manufacturing PureView Nokia smartphones. Moreover, the upcoming Nokia 9 phone will have the PureView branding and there is a lot of hope that HMD will launch something unique like the Nokia 1020PureView known for its 41MP sensor, which was pretty extraordinary for its time.
This combination with Zeiss optics means there are higher expectations in the photography department with the Nokia 9 PureView. With recent phones like the Nokia 8.1 and the Nokia 7.1, HMD Global has improved its camera game. But, the company still a bit behind to raise enough eyebrows.
Nokia 9 vs. iPhones, Pixels, and SamsungGalaxys
Reportedly, the Penta-camera system on the back will offer different types of zoom sensors. So it is possible that it can deliver a 5x or even a 10x telephoto lens. Recently, Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) was launched with the world’s first quad cameras with an ultra-wide-angle sensor that can capture more area in a frame, a depth sensor for bokeh shots, and a telephoto lens for better zooming experience. It is curious to see whether having five cameras will be enough to help the Nokia 9 PureViewovertake Pixels, iPhones, and Galaxy cameras.
