This version is specially designed for Indian Market
Amazon has launched many variants of Echo speakers in India, on Wednesday they introduced another one. This new speaker solves the problem of portability as many of the customers are asking for it for a long time. The online shopping destination revealed its new series of Echo Input Portable Smart Speakers. These versions of the speaker have 4,800mAh in-built battery that helps to play music for 10 hours continuously and have 11 hours of standby time.
Miriam Daniel, VP of Alexa Devices, “Portability has been one of the most requested features in India. You want to be able to carry Alexa with you from room to room within your homes. So we have designed something just for you.” The company told us that these new speakers share the same hardware as the old Echo input, which was launched the previous year.
The devices will start coming from 18th December
This portable powered by battery version is custom designed for Indian needs got a price tag of 5,999 Indian Rupees. The users are allowed to purchase the device at an introductory price of 4,999 Indian Rupees. The initial order starts coming to India on December 18, eventually, the speakers will be introduced in other global markets as well.
The new set of speakers share some identical features with the old version of Alexa, such as Alexa voice assistant in addition to a series of four LED light indicators that show the battery level. The company never revealed how many Echo speakers it has sold in the Indian market, but it is one of the primary markets for Amazon devises. This was also indicated in the statement of Rohit Prasad, VP of Alexa AI at Amazon, as he said, “adoption of Alexa in India has been phenomenal.”
