The users of Amazon Pay now can pay their utility, internet, mobile and TV bills using voice command through Alexa. It is the first that the e-commerce company using this kind of capabilities that involves Amazon Pay in a market.
The main competitor of Amazon in India is Wal-Mart’s Flipkart. The company is positive that the devices which support Alexa like Echo Dot smart speaker, Fire TV Stick dongle, headphones will bring the desired result as the company is expecting.
The company had been allowing the users in a different market to buy goods through voice command using Alexa. It will be first that the American e-commerce giant allowing people to pay their utility bills with voice command on Amazon Pay.
The company is offering hefty cashback to encourage the service
The company has launched its Amazon Pay services in several markets, but the service is well received in India. The use of digital wallets for payment got quite famous after 2016 and the government abolished the paper bills in use on temporary basis.
Without raveling much, Amazon informed that the customers that have used Amazon Pay in recently concluded six-day festive sales were three times higher than the previous year. The company is offering good cash-back on purchase of number of items to increase the use of Amazon Pay among users.
The payment service by Amazon is a lot easier to access for the payment of the items which are recurring in nature. The company says it is easy to use like if somebody asks “Alexa, what’s my balance”. The talkback will tell the amount left in the e-wallet. Through use of voice command users can add money to the e-wallet. This is secure and people get massages on their phones of each transaction.
