The company has won the DMRC tender to provide services at metro stations
Uber stated that it had won the tender to work with metro rail services in New Delhi. The news comes at a time when Uber is facing stiff competition from Ola and other hire-hailing service providers. Uber announced its partnership with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and the company will establish parking spots and avail fresh products in 210 metro stations in Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida.
The information about how much time it will take to deploy all these facilities all over Delhi Metro is not answered by the authorities or the Uber officials. It was mentioned by one Delhi Metro authority that Uber is not the exclusive partner for the metro service.
The company is set to include new functions in its mobile app that will provide real-time public transportation choices to people. The features will include navigation details of the transit route and pricing of the journey, but people can’t book the ride through the app.
The company is facing some hard times in India
The company is reducing its operations in India for some time, and they are not in the position to claim strong ground. Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO Uber said, “Uber is here to stay in India.” This statement was the same as the one he made in Southeast Asia previous year, later they have to sale the business to Grab. He did not take any questions regarding UberEats and services in India.
The business side for the food delivery services of Uber is going through tough times as many restaurants are cutting down their ties with the company. The discount that was given to its customers is also decreased. The company is losing its business to local rivals such as Zamato and Swiggy. They are in talks with rivals to sale its food delivery service UberEats, but there is no concrete progress.
