In recent years, consumer demands have been constantly on a rise – particularly in terms of quality and service. Observing the changing trends, supply chain managers have realized the importance of using the latest technology to ensure better accountability and visibility – allowing them to maintain tight control and thrive in the cut-throat competition. Thus, more companies are incorporating technology into their supply chain management systems to stay at the forefront of the complex business world. Meeting this demand in the supply chain landscape, Edgistify is one of India’s most credible on-demand supply chain solution companies offering a tech-enabled one-stop platform for multiple logistics requirements.
Edgistify’s roots date back to 2017 when Umang Shukla, Kamal Kumawat, and Antim Suman (Co-founders at Edgistify) observed the limitations in the supply chain and logistics sector and wanted to address these constraints with the idea that can revolutionize the industry. Moreover, as India was taking big steps towards digitization since 2015, facilitating the supply chain industry with a tech-based platform was the core thought behind the foundation of Edgistify. Consequently, reaching out to more than 300 supply chain heads, the trio established Edgistify in 2017. The company aims at becoming the leading supply chain support partner powered by its robust data strength and works in the direction of streamlining various touch points across the value chain.

Restructuring and Regrouping
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted business operations around the world in several ways. Businesses that were dependent on physical contact such as HoReCa, Travel & Tourism, etc. were the major victims of the pandemic and suffered a severe loss. At the same time, businesses that fell under the essential services category gained momentum. As digitization became the only means of supply and consumption, tech-driven startups generated more leads during the pandemic.
Unlike the rest of the world, the APAC region lagged in terms of digital inculcation. Particularly in the logistics industry, companies in the APAC region were not inclined towards digitization before the pandemic as compared to the rest of the world. However, presently, the loss of physical connectivity led by the pandemic has revolutionized the business models across the APAC region, making it mandatory to place technology at the heart of the logistics businesses.
Heeding to these changes, Edgistify restructured and regrouped to make the most of the opportunity presented by the inclination towards digitization. Alongside internal structurization, the company worked on transforming the physical components of the business to digital such as site visits, negotiations, etc. Taking the crisis in a positive light, its team churned out creative ideas for communication, content, and operations thereby strengthening its tech backend. Furthermore, as a social responsibility, Edgistify introduced a new vertical for employing in the blue-collar area –helping people to connect and gain jobs, especially in the logistics and supply chain sector.
Strengthening the Digital Spine
The arrival of the pandemic has impacted several lives and business all over the world. At the beginning, Edgistify faced numerous issues which include Lack of connectivity. From the employee engagement point of view, virtual connectivity has helped in various occasions but it had its own limitations. Employees felt disconnected as they were in touch with their teams but not with the rest of the organization. In this phase, Edgistify’s HR teams played a vital role by arranging several cross-term virtual activities and ensuring continuous engagement.
Furthermore, the company organized some L&D sessions for the employees. It made sure that all the employees were on the same page by implementing the Kaizen process to take inputs from the employees on its live projects. Rather than adjusting to the new normal, Edgistify benefitted from it by emphasizing on strengthening its digital spine.
Tech-transformation in the Logistics Sector
The rise of better technologies, growth of ecommerce, and escalation of investments in the last half decade are fueling potential opportunities for the tech-transformation within the logistics sector of the APAC region. Aiming to maximize these opportunities, Edgistify is planning to introduce on-demand warehousing– a plug and play warehouse vertical that avails warehouses for short term and long term requirements. The company is also planning to expand business with the 3PL companies that associate with it for their vacant space availability. Ultimately, Edgistify’s long-term goal is to cover the entire supply chain from MHE to transportation through the medium of its tech-based platform.
