Elon Musk’s Starlink Registers India units, to Focus on Catalyzing Rural Development

On 1 Nov 2021, Elon Musk’s Starlink registered its enterprise in India. The firm is planning to launch web companies throughout the country in accordance with the corporate paperwork filed with the federal government.

Nation director for Starlink Sanjay Bhargava stated via his LinkedIn account, “Pleased to share that SpaceX now has a 100% owned subsidiary in India. We can now start applying for licenses, open bank accounts, etc.”

As per the presentation shared by Bhargava on LinkedIn, Starlink will solely focus on catalyzing rural development in India via its broadband companies. Once it’s allowed to present companies, Starlink will, within the first part, give 100 units at no cost to colleges in Delhi and close by rural districts. It will then goal 12 rural districts throughout India.

In India, Starlink plans to “carry on the business of telecommunication services” together with satellite tv for pc broadband web companies, content material storage and streaming, multi-media communication, amongst others, as per the corporate submitting.

By December 2020, Starlink aims to have 200,000 Starlink units in India. 80% of which will likely be in rural districts. According to Bhargava’s presentation, Starlink has already obtained over 5000 pre-orders for its units in India.
